The Rigi Light Festival transforms the Queen of Mountains into an atmospheric winter stage for the first time, with various light installations along a 1.5-kilometer trail. International art, peaceful winter enjoyment, and culinary offerings make the evening tour a unique experience.
Time and place
Friday, February 6, 2026, to Friday, February 27, 2026, daily from 5:45 p.m. to 8:15 p.m.
The light installations are located between the St. Michael rock chapel in Rigi Kaltbad, the village square in Kaltbad, and the path to the alpine cheese dairy on Rigi First.
Getting there and admission
The light installations are free of charge.
The special day ticket LiRi costs CHF 30.00 and entitles you to a return trip from Goldau, Vitznau, or Weggis starting at 3:55 p.m.
From Vitznau/Weggis, regular connections. There is also an additional service to Goldau on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays.
Departure is at 7:38 p.m. from Rigi Kaltbad, with a change in Rigi Staffel and continuation at 7:50 p.m. The special train to Goldau also stops in Wölfertschen-First at 7:55 p.m.
